I don't think it's right, especially if the family has no say in the matter. It would be different if they were given the option. The least the mortuary could do is foot the bill for the entire obituary to appear in the paper, logo and all, since funerals are so expensive to begin with.

I had no idea this kind of thing is actually happening. Thanks for posting & increasing awareness.

Anyways… Here’s the latest from Alaska: the official filing for sole custody of Tripp in “Palin V Johnston” Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol has sued Levi Johnston for sole custody of their child, Tripp Johnston-Palin, and now two superior court judges have unsealed the court record and denied Palin’s request that pseudonyms be used, the Alaska Dispatch reports. Palin filed for custody on November 4, at which time Judge Kari C. Kristiansen issued a temporary order limiting access to the case files and allowed the parties to file under pseudonyms. Johnston, however, appealed those decisions. On December 23, Kristiansen denied Palin’s request for a closed proceeding. On the same day, Presiding Judge Sharon Gleason denied Palin’s request to use pseudonyms. For his part, Johnston said…

I am one of many hundreds of thousands fathers violated and abused in Canadian Family Court. Without any evidence of wrongdoing on my part, in the presence of substantiated evidence of my ex-wifes violent, irrational and destructive behavior my parental and property rights were violated by the court. My children and my property were wrenched away from me and I have been forced to pay to get back what is rightfully mine. The court system must go, it’s corrupted beyond repair.
